This Is Not the Albania We Believe In” – Rama Reacts to Protest Incident: “Full Solidarity with the Bullied Young Man”

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted on his official Instagram page following tensions during a protest where some demonstrators called for the removal of the LGBT community flag.

In his post, written in English, Rama stressed that this is not the Albania people believe in and certainly not the Albania that is being built as a proud member of the European family.

Rama expressed his full solidarity with the young man who was allegedly bullied during the incident, emphasizing that no human being should be humiliated, excluded, or targeted for being different.

“This is not the Albania we believe in, and certainly not the Albania we are building as a proud member of the European family. Full solidarity with the bullied young man. No human being should be humiliated, excluded, or targeted for being different. Shame on the bullies,” Rama wrote.

The Prime Minister’s statement comes amid ongoing public debate surrounding the incident and has sparked reactions across social media and the political spectrum.
