The Albanian government has approved a new pension indexation that will take effect on July 1, 2026, bringing a 2.7% increase to pensions across the country.
The decision was announced following today’s Cabinet meeting by Minister of Economy Delina Ibrahimaj, who confirmed that approximately 900,000 beneficiaries will benefit from the increase.
According to the minister, all old-age pensions, as well as special pensions and maternity-related benefits, will be indexed by 2.7% starting on July 1.
Ibrahimaj explained that the government is returning to its regular pension indexation schedule after temporary changes made during the 2022 energy crisis, when pensions were adjusted twice—once in April and again in October—to help citizens cope with rising living costs.
“From July 1, we will increase pensions by 2.7%. This applies to all retirement pensions, as well as special pensions and maternity-related benefits. Around 900,000 beneficiaries will receive the indexed increase,” Ibrahimaj said.
