Taulant Balla Reacts to Reports That Berisha’s ‘Non Grata’ Status Has Been Removed

Parliament’s plenary session was marked by tensions between the ruling majority and the opposition, with recent protests in Tirana and their political messages at the center of the debate.

The head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, stated that the government has a clear mandate to govern and remains focused on Albania’s integration into the European Union.

“Today, we are being told here that the protest has achieved its first success and that the ‘non grata’ designation has been removed. That’s what you said. In fact, you even changed your slogan because the protesters gave you that right.

The legal basis under which Berisha was declared non grata is not easy to overturn. However, I will comment on it as soon as the U.S. Department of State or the Embassy issues an official statement. To present this as an achievement of the protest…

We have a mandate to govern the country and complete Albania’s integration into the European Union. We defeated you before, and we will defeat you even more decisively in 2029,” Balla said.
