During this evening’s protest, organizers and participants publicly presented five key demands that, according to them, should be fulfilled by state institutions.
At the top of the list is the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Protesters called for the departure of the head of government, considering it the first step toward addressing the issues they raised during the demonstration.
Another demand is the establishment of a technical government, which they believe would ensure the impartial administration of the country and the proper preparation of future processes.
The protesters also called for the repeal of the Protected Areas Law, arguing that the approved amendments have raised concerns regarding environmental protection and the preservation of natural resources.
In addition, they demanded the repeal of the Strategic Investments Law, claiming that it has favored projects and developments opposed by local communities and environmental groups.
The fifth demand concerns the complete cancellation of the project known as the “Mountain Package,” an initiative that has sparked public debate and opposition from various civil society organizations.
The organizers stated that these five points form the basis of their position and called on citizens to continue mobilizing in support of these demands.
