TIRANA – The non-partisan protest movement against Albania’s political establishment entered its 16th consecutive day on Monday, with citizens gathering once again in the center of Tirana before marching through the streets of the capital.
Chanting slogans such as “Rama to jail, Berisha to jail” and “No political party can stop us,” protesters assembled in the main square before moving along Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard and stopping in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, where several speeches were delivered.
Organizers emphasized that the demonstrations remain citizen-led and independent of political parties, calling on participants to stay united and avoid divisions during the march.
According to the organizers, the route will remain within Tirana’s ring road, with no separate groups and no spontaneous changes in direction. Protesters have also been instructed to keep one traffic lane open at all times to allow emergency vehicles to pass.
“The march is organized by young people themselves. We will make sure that last night’s incidents are not repeated. There will be no more marches outside the ring road,” one of the organizers announced through a megaphone before the demonstration began.
After more than five hours of protest activity, participants continued marching through the streets of Tirana, while organizers called on more citizens to join the movement in the coming days.
