Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama was in Basel, Switzerland, on Monday, where he attended the “Parcours” exhibition, which also featured one of his sculptures.
The artwork is a bronze sculpture created from drawings made at the Prime Minister’s Office. The process transformed hand-drawn sketches into a finished piece through 3D printing technology.
Footage of Rama at the event was shared by former anti-drug officer Dritan Zagani, who has lived in Switzerland under political asylum for several years.
Zagani left Albania after exposing alleged connections between former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri and the drug-trafficking group led by Moisi Habilaj.
“Tirana’s squares are full, and this guy is eating and drinking here with your money. Keep protesting peacefully because you are a civilized people — exactly the way he wants it. It’s one thing that the fool wears white sneakers, but why doesn’t he ever wash them? They look filthy,” Zagani wrote on social media.
Although Rama was attending an art exhibition, many observers noted that the ongoing protests in Albania appeared to remain a major topic of discussion, with social media continuing to be flooded with comments about the demonstrations.
