New details have emerged regarding the disappearance of 34-year-old Eglant Koçi, whose close friend, Armand Shakaj, has been declared wanted by police as the main suspect in the case.
According to investigative sources, Shakaj allegedly used a tow truck to transport his vehicle—inside which Koçi’s body is believed to have been concealed—to the area of Ibë, in an apparent attempt to avoid routine police checks.
Investigators say the transport took place on June 6. Security camera footage suggests that Koçi’s body may have remained inside the vehicle for approximately a day and a half, as his last contact with family members was recorded on June 4.
Police identified and questioned the owner of the tow truck. The driver reportedly told investigators that he delivered the vehicle near a repair shop in Ibë after Shakaj claimed it had mechanical problems. The witness stated that he had no knowledge of what was inside the car and left the area after dropping it off.
Meanwhile, traces of gunpowder residue have been discovered inside the office where Koçi was allegedly held. Investigators are awaiting forensic test results to determine exactly what occurred at the scene.
For several days, police have focused their efforts on two main objectives: locating Koçi’s body in the areas surrounding Tirana, Elbasan, and Librazhd, and apprehending the wanted suspect, Armand Shakaj.
Reliable sources indicate that the 41-year-old suspect has changed six different phone numbers in recent days in an apparent effort to avoid being tracked by authorities.
