The United States has lifted the “non grata” designation imposed on Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha.
“I came, it’s done,” Berisha declared in Parliament following the publication of the news. His statement was met with applause and cheers from Democratic Party lawmakers and supporters present in the chamber.
Sources within the Democratic Party confirmed to Vizion Plus that the decision by the U.S. Department of State was communicated to Berisha during a telephone conversation with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Nancy VanHorn.
The development has sparked strong reactions in Albanian politics, with Democratic Party members celebrating what they describe as a major political victory for their leader.
