After several days that placed her at the center of public attention and sparked widespread reactions across the media and social networks, journalist and TV host Sidorela Gjoni has decided to speak publicly for the first time.
Through a lengthy message shared on social media, she reflected on the situation that followed her interview with Prime Minister Edi Rama and thanked everyone who supported her during this period.
In her statement, the host of “Shqipëria Live” said she had carefully read every message, comment, post, video, phone call, and expression of support she received from citizens. She said she was deeply touched by the appreciation and kindness shown by the public and considered it a valuable source of support at a time when her name had been widely discussed.
“I have read every one of your messages and I feel your support in every word, post, video, comment, banner, meme, and phone call. I am grateful for your appreciation and affection,” she wrote.
Despite the attention she has received, Gjoni stressed that she does not see herself as the protagonist of the situation. She noted that journalism has been her profession for more than ten years and that her work has remained unchanged despite the recent spotlight.
According to her, her dedication to journalism has always been the same—from her days as a sports reporter to her current role as a journalist and television presenter. For that reason, she said there is no need to idealize or glorify her, as she simply fulfilled her professional duty and responsibility.
The journalist also praised citizens who have chosen to express their opinions and positions in a peaceful and respectful manner. She said she has been closely following the positive energy, determination, and messages being shared by people during this period and hopes that everything will contribute to the good of the country.
“I appreciate the spirit, energy, calmness, and messages that you continue to convey every day as responsible citizens. I sincerely hope that, in the end, what is best for our country will prevail,” she stated.
Toward the end of her message, Gjoni made it clear that she does not wish to continue public debates on the issue and that this would be her final reaction regarding the matter. She emphasized that she is not seeking personal attention or social media fame, as her focus remains on her work and communication with the public through television.
She also invited viewers to follow her on “Shqipëria Live,” which airs every weekday on Top Channel, noting that this is where she wishes to be judged for her professional work.
