“This Is How the State Will Fall!” / Rrjoll Residents Remove Fences and Storm Construction Site

Residents of Rrjoll have returned to the streets to protest against the construction of a luxury resort in the area, a project being developed by the company Gener 2.

According to the protesters, the development covers approximately 147.2 hectares and has continued despite their claims that ownership of the land remains the subject of ongoing court disputes, fueling tensions in the region.

The situation escalated when residents tore down part of the construction site’s perimeter fence, which had recently been reinforced with high walls and barbed wire, and entered the area where heavy construction machinery was operating.

One resident was heard shouting: “This is how the state will fall too!”

During the confrontation, protesters clashed with police officers. Unlike previous demonstrations, no private security personnel were reported to be present at the site.

The demonstrators claim that their land was taken unfairly through disputed documentation and are calling on the government to intervene and resolve the ownership issue.

During the protest, some participants also chanted political slogans such as “Rama to prison,” “Berisha to prison,” and “Edi Rama, resign,” while warning that they will continue their demonstrations until the project is halted and authorities engage in dialogue with local residents.
