While Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Socialist Party are celebrating the party’s 35th anniversary, the 13th day of the national protest against the Zvërnec project has also begun.
Thousands of citizens initially marched from Skanderbeg Square to the Prime Minister’s Office. Carrying banners and signs, protesters once again called on Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign and demanded the cancellation of the project.
Demonstrators also voiced criticism of opposition leader Sali Berisha, despite reports that emerged yesterday claiming that his “non grata” status in the United States had been lifted.
Several citizens later took the stage and renewed their calls for the government to step down.
It remains to be seen how the protest will develop in the coming hours, as it has now evolved into a nationwide movement attracting participants from across the country.
