Lawyer and activist Altin Goxhaj has made a strong statement during a podcast, claiming that, according to his political analysis and calculations, Prime Minister Edi Rama is facing his final deadline to leave power.
Goxhaj stated that July 2, historically known as the day Albanians entered foreign embassies in 1990, could mark a major political turning point in the country. According to him, the date is not coincidental but is symbolically linked to the collapse of fear and the beginning of the end of a political system.
During the podcast, Goxhaj claimed that the biggest blow to Rama could come on June 20, when Jared Kushner is allegedly expected to announce his withdrawal from the highly debated investment project in Albania. He argued that such a move, if it happens, would seriously damage the Prime Minister’s international and political standing.
“Rama is negotiating his fate. He is looking for a way to leave without consequences, but the end has come,” Goxhaj said, adding that the political situation has entered a point of no return.
According to him, another significant development could occur before July 2 within the opposition camp, as he claims that Sali Berisha may resign, paving the way for a new political configuration in the country.
Goxhaj went even further with his predictions, stating that Rama is surrounded not only by public pressure but also by internal power struggles. According to him, figures within the system and Rama’s own political circle are preparing to replace him, while citizen protests could escalate into direct confrontation with the government.
He said that on July 2, the Albanian people may take their political future into their own hands if Rama does not step down beforehand.
Goxhaj’s statements come amid a tense political climate, with ongoing protests against major coastal development projects and strong accusations against the government over the management of strategic investments, property rights, and public interests.
So far, however, there has been no official confirmation of Goxhaj’s claims regarding a potential withdrawal by Jared Kushner from the investment project, nor of any planned decision by Sali Berisha. Nevertheless, his remarks have sparked debate by setting a clear political deadline: July 2.
According to Goxhaj, “Rama’s end is certain,” while the coming days will reveal whether his predictions remain political rhetoric or develop into real events on Albania’s political stage.
