As seen in a video shared on social media, Hoxha presents the protest as a new divide between “the people” and “the patronage network,” stating that after this movement, “history has changed for Rama, for Berisha, for everyone.”
However, the presence of Hoxha, who works and lives in Kosovo, has further fueled debate over the involvement of political and public figures who are not directly connected to the local cause of the residents and citizens protesting in Albania.
It is worth recalling that in recent days, several activists from Vetëvendosje have also been spotted at the protest, including individuals known for their participation in strong political actions and violent clashes in Pristina.
While their participation does not diminish the citizens’ concerns regarding Zvërnec, it does raise serious questions about possible attempts to steer the protest toward broader political agendas beyond its original purpose.
