Then They Tell Me Not to Respond to the Protesters’ – Rama Shares Video From Boulevard Rally, Claims Speaker Was Convicted Three Times in Belgium for Drug Trafficking”

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared a video from the recent protest held on the main boulevard, responding to one of the participants who addressed the crowd during the demonstration.

During his speech, the protester focused on the Chameria issue and presented himself as a patriotic voice defending the cause. However, in a post accompanying the video, Rama alleged that the man had been convicted three times in Belgium for drug trafficking.

The Prime Minister argued that individuals like him should not be confused with ordinary citizens who attend protests to peacefully express their concerns. According to Rama, there is a clear distinction between genuine protesters seeking to have their voices heard and people with criminal backgrounds who take center stage and speak on behalf of the crowd.

In his statement, Rama wrote:

“He has been convicted three times in Belgium for drug trafficking. And then they tell me not to respond to the protesters! The people who take the microphone and who will continue to appear on this page have nothing to do with the sincere protesters who simply want to be seen and respected for their concerns. These individuals represent the face of darkness, from which this spectacle of Albania’s oldest mentality is fed—a mentality that believes it has found a magical solution for becoming a new Albania.”

Rama’s remarks quickly sparked reactions on social media, adding another chapter to the ongoing political tensions surrounding the recent wave of protests. His comments have reignited debate over the individuals representing the demonstrations and the broader political narrative surrounding the movement.
