Marjana Koçeku, also known as the “Neo-Malësorja,” has broken her silence just one day after publicly announcing that she would no longer be part of the Socialist Party’s parliamentary group and would continue serving as an independent MP.
Koçeku, who headed the Socialist Party’s list in Shkodër during the most recent elections, made an unexpected political move that immediately attracted the attention of the public and the media.
She made her announcement during a protest held the previous day, where she declared her departure from the Socialist Party and her separation from the political leadership of Edi Rama. The decision was welcomed enthusiastically by participants in the protest, who viewed it as an act of courage and political independence.
On the other hand, her departure sparked strong reactions within Socialist Party ranks, with many party members and supporters criticizing her sharply on social media.
Koçeku’s decision is expected to have an impact on future political developments, particularly in the Shkodër region.
