For several hours, the Bradashesh roundabout was nearly blocked due to heavy traffic heading toward Tirana, a situation that appears to confirm the transportation of public administration employees to the capital after the end of their working day, where they were expected to attend Edi Rama’s rally.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, who also serves as chairman of the Socialist Party, held what critics described as a counter-rally in Tirana on Friday afternoon, using the occasion of the Socialist Party’s 35th anniversary celebration.
In recent days, several allegations have surfaced claiming that public administration employees were placed under pressure to attend the rally called by Rama. According to these claims, the event’s primary objective was to ensure a large turnout as a response to the ongoing protests being held by citizens on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard.
To fulfill this objective, hundreds of vehicles reportedly headed toward Tirana, contributing to the large crowd gathered in Italy Square, where Rama delivered a one-hour speech focused largely on criticizing protesters who are demanding his resignation.
The video below reportedly shows a long line of vehicles traveling from Elbasan County toward Tirana. The county includes the municipalities of Elbasan, Librazhd, Cërrik, Gramsh, and Belsh.
For several hours, the Bradashesh roundabout remained heavily congested due to the large volume of traffic heading toward the capital. According to the report, this supports claims that public administration employees were transported to Tirana after completing their official work schedules in order to attend Rama’s event.
The same pattern is alleged to have occurred during other Socialist Party gatherings organized across the country as part of the party’s 35th-anniversary activities, where public administration employees from the respective regions were reportedly expected to join the crowds and show support for the Prime Minister.
