“Your Time Is Up” – Massive Protest March Reaches Astir as Demonstrators Chant: “Rama, Resign!”
Protesters continued their march from the Prime Minister’s Office and have now reached the Astir area, before eventually returning toward the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard.
Throughout the march, demonstrators repeatedly chanted, “Rama, resign!” The protest, now in its 12th consecutive day, has been described by participants as a display of civic engagement and determination to see their movement through to the end.
Protesters have stated that they will not back down until Prime Minister Edi Rama resigns. Organizers say the demonstrations have exceeded expectations and have received support from Albanians both inside and outside the country.
Another gathering has been announced for June 13, with a call for members of the Albanian diaspora to join the movement. Participants have also directed messages toward the justice system, calling for an investigation into Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Authorities have not yet issued an official response regarding the latest developments.
